Human rights are the basic rights and freedom for every human being. Human rights are for everyone regardless of race, religion, language and sex. Everyone is equal to enjoy these rights. On the other hand the term Human Rights contains an ideal. Those who use this term voice what it must be, not what it is.
On 13-14 November 2009, a two-day Human Rights Seminar took place in Taksim office of Friedrich Naumann Foundation.

The young participants from different ethnic or religious groups experienced the richness of differences by working together and with various activities.

Throughout the seminar the activities were done on What are human rights?, The Historical Development of Human Rights, Human Rights and Cultural-Universal Values topics. Activities on minorities and domestic violence were done to increase awareness of common human rights abuses.

In addition, the roles of different actors to protect Human Rights in the society were discussed and the links between these actors were the topic of one activity to promote Civil Society

The relation between Human Rights and Liberalism was discussed among the participants in the activities.

The seminar was fruitful and enjoyable with the active participation of the participants with the help of the activities done such as games, debates, group works and presentations.
