Globalization and Market Economy Seminar, March 20-21, 2010 / Izmir, Turkey PDF Print E-mail

A group of participants -post graduate students, civil society volunteers and professionals- attended the “Globalization and Free Market Economy Seminar” which was organized by Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNF) in cooperation with the European Union Chair of the Institute of Social Sciences at Dokuz Eylul University and the Aegean Association for European Union Studies (AÇED) in Izmir, March 20 and 21, 2010.


Participants examined concepts such as private ownership, free exchange, competition, and entrepreneurship in relation with freedom, democracy, rule of law, civic society and limited state within the contextual framework of globalization. Scholars and entrepreneurs who gave speeches on globalization, economic crises, emerging markets, and entrepreneurship enhanced participants to study these subjects within a broader and multi-faceted perspective.

Participants actively involved in working groups and presented their works during the seminar. In this regard, the seminar also gave them the opportunity to practice their group work, communication, and presentation skills and gain experience.
