A group of participants including students of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Çukurova University and young professionals attended the “Globalization and Free Market Economy Seminar” which was organized by Friedrich Naumann Foundation in Adana, April 24 and 25, 2010.

Participants examined concepts such as private ownership, free exchange, competition and entrepreneurship. Besides, they also examined how these concepts relate to rule of law, limited state, civic society, democracy and freedom. Scholars and entrepreneurs who gave speeches on globalization and entrepreneurship enhanced participants to study these subjects within a broader and multi-faceted perspective.

Participants actively involved in working groups and presented their works during the seminar. In this regard, the seminar also gave them the opportunity to practice their group work, communication, and presentation skills and gain experience. During the seminar evaluation participants articulated that group work and presentations were very productive. Thus, they suggested that there should be more similar events.
